The Byting Ninja Pandas are a community, which interests are in the software engineering and accessibility. Right now, we are a community “only”. But we are looking for new members who share our interests and passion, to make the world more accessible. Our first goal is to transform the community into a registered non-profit association. Our central goals are:
Developing LUNA-Charts. A open source component library to create accessible charts
Creating a Knowledge-Hub to teach you in three sections:
How to develop accessible software?
How to design accessible software?
how to write accessible content?
You see, we take accessibility as our main goal and we want to share in every way of it!
We use different platforms for our work. The main platforms are:
The website and the WordPress functionality. As a member, you will have an account and are able to sign in there. Furthermore we use there many other tools. But at the first step the most important tool there will be LazyTasks. It is a Kanban board for creating and edit tickets which are related to association. If you cannot see or participate to it, then you are a just a member and not into any role. That's ok. To get a role like “Author” or “Dev Ops-Engineer” e. g. you need grant access by a admin or other person. If you are just a developer, designer or a contributor from the LUNA-Charts projects, you don't need any roles. Just use our own Gitea server. The website is normally used just by the members of the association.
This wiki. Here we document some internal structure, the organization of the association and miscellaneous stuff related to the association. We try to keep our wiki content up to date.
Our Gitea server. Yes, we have our own! Why? Because we love learning and building things ourselves. When we founded the community, we wanted to follow our own path. We started with limited knowledge, and it was important for us to learn, improve, and grow by tackling challenges along the way. There are many other reasons why we use our own git server. But for know, it is enough to know, that we have our own.
